A RESOLUTION COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE TOM JOHNSON FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVE.

WHEREAS, Representative Thomas E. Johnson, a resident of Benton, Mississippi, has served as a member of the House of Representatives for six years; and

WHEREAS, after graduating from Benton High School, Representative Johnson attended Mississippi State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in political science; and

WHEREAS, Representative Johnson currently serves on the House Conservation and Water Resources Committee, the Education Committee, the Judiciary "B" Committee, the Public Health and Welfare Committee and the Public Utilities Committee; and

WHEREAS, Representative Johnson has ably and effectively represented the best interests of the citizens of House District 56, which includes parts of Madison, Sharkey, Warren and Yazoo Counties; and

WHEREAS, Representative Johnson has been supported in all his endeavors by his lovely wife, the former Annita Hines, and their children, Stacey and Alan; and

WHEREAS, Representative Johnson has brought much credit to himself and the House of Representatives by his dedication and hard work for his constituents and the people of the State of Mississippi:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and express appreciation to Representative Tom Johnson for his outstanding service as a member of the House of Representatives and extend to him our heartiest wishes for success in all his future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Representative Johnson and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
